About Us

Hello everyone!

We try and keep the focus of My Richmond on the local businesses we feature and our local area, however we wanted to share a bit more about us to shed some light on who’s behind all of this!

We are a local couple with family who run a stall at the Richmond Duck Pond market. With a background working in marketing, we set out in December 2016 to create a platform that would help local businesses like the market attract people from the local area and beyond.   

 

 

Fast forward to 2020 and what started as a hobby due to our love of the borough has now grown into a full time family run business! Over the past 4+ years we've worked hard to organically grow the largest social media audience for the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and we now work with many of the best (mostly independent) businesses and organisations in the borough.

... and then coronavirus arrived.

We absolutely love what we do and one of the highlights has been getting to know so many of the local business owners who have of course been hit hard by the pandemic, which is why we decided to launch the #LoveLocal Richmond voucher scheme in March 2020 to support them. 

 

 

We didn't profit from voucher sales in any way and have now raised over £4,250 for businesses in the borough from voucher sales. It has been amazing to see so much community spirit and support - thank you so much to everyone who has bought a voucher!

For now, while many businesses are still unable to open, we will continue to support them by running the #LoveLocal scheme and as lockdown eases and businesses start to reopen again, we will then be adapting the platform.

The Future

As well as running our advertising plans for local businesses, in 2020 we are launching an online marketplace stocking locally sourced products, gifts and experiences from the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. 

We hope it will help you to easily support local businesses and spend more time in your local area, we are lucky to have so many amazing businesses and such beautiful scenery on our doorstep.
